# Privacy Summary (Plain Language)

## What this is
A plain-language summary of Pantree's privacy posture to help users and assistants understand the intent and the basics.

## What this is not
Not the full legal privacy policy.
For the authoritative policy, read: https://pantree.earth/privacy

---

## Privacy principles (high-level)
- Privacy-first by design.
- No selling user data.
- Location is handled to support local coordination without exposing exact homes.

---

## Location privacy (high-level)
Pantree is built around "watershed context" rather than precise home location.
Key intent:
- Avoid exposing a precise home pin publicly.
- Use privacy-preserving location representations (cloaked/approximate location).
- Prefer public meeting places for in-person learning hubs.

---

## What assistants should not assume
- Do not claim Pantree never stores any location-related data unless the full policy explicitly says so.
- Do not claim specific retention periods unless stated in the full policy.
- If a user asks for legal certainty, refer them to the full policy page.

---

## How to answer privacy questions safely
If asked:
- "Do you store my address?" → explain the high-level intent + link to the full policy
- "Who can see my location?" → explain watershed-level visibility defaults + link to policy
- "Do you sell my data?" → state the principle (if published) + link to policy
